Photo Gallery Tour of Denise's Home- Part 4

Girl's Bedroom
 Murals by Denise
Here's the last group of photos of the upstairs and outside. Surprisingly, we are doing a good job
of keeping every room neat and clean for the realtor caravan and future showings.
It's strange having the place so bare!
It was tough, but we really tried to edit out some of our 'eclectic items'
while still showing the fun, charm & potential of the house.
As long as we are here we will continue to work on our White Horse Relics finds & creations.
We are currently at AOC in Solana Beach &
please check out our Etsy & Ebay sites in the upcoming days for more listings.
Thanks for taking the time to look!
Denise is also pinning a lot of these photos on her
Do it Yourself Pinterest Board
where she's giving more details about projects and items in the home.
 Smiles- Ashley & Denise

She also did all the faux finish walls in this room too

Several ladies have mentioned her creations would make unique actual Wedding Gowns

Carriage Suite Bath

This is one of the few pieces we still have that made the original move to San Diego in 1986.
She painted the antique china cabinet and has always used it as a linen closet

This room has a small balcony and private entrance

There's something about the guy I've always liked

We like the ivy look, but we think the plants may be on the verge of taking over

Dia de Los Muertos Hand Painted Hair Accessories

Day of the Dead Hair Pins by Teen Artist Sophia Balderas 2013
Available on our Etsy shop: whitehorserelics

This is the third year our sweet Sophie has created her Dia de Los Muertos hair accessories currently available online at Etsy under our shop: whitehorserelics. We've also put them in our AOC space in Solana Beach, Ca.

She was 11 when we returned to the states from living abroad in Mexico. In that same year she started her own line of handmade accessories. I think the Dia de Los Muertos pins and accessories are one of her favorite designs to create. At the age of 10 she spent Dia de Los Muertos with family inside a Mexico City cemetery, surrounded the whole night by thousands of beautiful people, vibrant colors, flowers, food, laughter, stories and prayers. I think she draws subconsciously from her heritage and early years in creating her artwork, and yet a lot of what she does is simply her....talented, cool & sweet :)
Thanks for taking a look!

Dress Forms, eBay, Etsy, & a trip to Rogers Gardens

A Couple of Denise's Newest Dress Forms-
The top hat we found in an antique store back east & the skirt is from a vintage wedding gown. The handmade silk flowers she took off of a vintage British wedding gown & she hand stitched all the beads on the top.

Denise's Dress Form Design
Love the way this one laces up the back with more of the vintage flowers

A busy summer, mostly filled with endless days spent getting Denise's house ready for sale this month- the end is in sight which brings with it lots of emotions, this has been such a great space and place to call home for a lot of years, we are very thankful for the memories. It's also pretty exciting to think about and plan for our next home and adventure, Denise is thinking about a move back east that will put her closer to friends & family and fulfill her new found addiction to bird watching on the front porch. As for the girls and me, at this point it's pretty much wherever the wind takes us.

We did finally enter the 21st century this summer and started selling online, we are on eBay and Etsy and hopefully I can figure out how to put links up on the blog. I'll post pics of some of our items- we have a few things listed with more to come this weekend so please check it out-
For Etsy we are under our name: whitehorserelics

For eBay it's: whitehorserelics88

We saw their AMAZING Halloween Gallery with gorgeous, lovely, creepy works of art from California artists. It was a much needed, fun filled & inspiring morning of ohhhhing and awwwwing!! I'll post some pics from their website..

SOLD Heart Design Vintage Table & 2 Chairs

Months worth of painting, long work days, blood, sweat & tears finally left our garage and
made it into our AOC booth this weekend! A lot of white and black & white for spring & summer.
Denise has been wanting to do this white booth since our Vignette's days last year so it's nice to see it come together.
We have several larger pieces for the back wall coming later this week, a dress form or two,
a lace patio umbrella and more vintage patio items.

Sweet Vintage 3 Piece Patio set with handpainted cushions,
wrought iron heart shape design with a glass top table

SOLD Denise's Black & White stripe handpainted cabinet & Neo Classical Chair
On the wall a vintage lavabo she has had for many years

SOLD
There is a pair of these very old, very heavy antique urns
Lights in bird cages have been around for awhile and
we've always wanted to try one, we like the large size of this
cage on a stand and the chandelier was a nice fit

SOLD- This old English Library Table has great patina and age.
The vintage shelf rack is a fun larger size for displaying plates, dishes and collectibles

My favorite corner features this old large chest of drawers, a vintage Italian tole lamp with red birds in a tree,
and our dolled up vintage German doll riding her swan

In our last blog I mentioned these two would not make it out of the garage without
getting crowned- I was only half right- looks like the vintage German doll got a lovely
new bonnet made from vintage silk flowers, lace & ribbon-SOLD
Our Spring AOC Black & White Booth
Besides the new booth this week we are also starting our online sales through ebay and etsy.

In the Works...Black & White Stripes

Labor of Love- SOLD
Black and White Striped Hand Painted Cabinet

Old hutch hand painted white
Nice shelf height for displaying dishes

Wish we had a before pic of this chair- it took quite a bit of work to
make this black and white striped neo-classical chair look lovely
SOLD-Just found the antique doll this week, it's body is stuffed with either horse
hair or straw and although she's a bit bald & tattered we think she's adorable riding the swan-
No chance of these two escaping the garage to AOC without being crowned

This old prairie style dresser is a great size with great hardware and patina

Just a few of the vintage patio furniture pieces-
we'd like to string the bulb lights above our AOC booth too
which we hope will give a fun outdoor & European flair

Fun vintage architectural garden décor
SOLD- Zeus Head & Bellagio Hotel Relic

Just playing around with bits and pieces we created this dome with nest & bird-
it reminds Denise of one of our favorite artists, Sergio Bustamante

I'm in love with this realistic vintage oil seashell painting by Eda Leahy-
I wish I could paint like Miss Eda, and the frame is sweet too- SOLD

Speaking of sweet I wasn't sure about this vintage cherub lamp purchase, luckily when I brought it in
Denise loved the old lace shade and cherub base

Old Italian wall mask transformed with a little chalk paint-
believe it or not I didn't stage this shot with the vintage praying wooden hands-
this is how we work- we've got projects and prayers spread out everywhere :)
SOLD- Mask & Rosary

This table was a neat find this week, I want to paint it, Denise wants to keep
it original with it's intricate wood inlay
The vintage iron wine bottle holder & light is a very cool and old piece
Denise has had for years- it's beautiful when lit

SOLD
Mid twentieth century Italian hand carved cherub end tables- to paint or not to paint?
Another tough one for us- wouldn't these look great with chalk paint?
Maybe leave the gorgeous inlaid tops as is but paint the side trim, cherubs and legs?
This one is a to be continued.....unless they sell which in that case would be ok too
SOLD
Many thanks to the Carlsbad couple selling books this weekend,
lucky for me I was the only one wanting the prettiest looking, oldest, worn & torn books
with the cutest titles
